Reception - Silly Doggy

Date: 3rd May 2019 @ 12:41pm

This week we started a brand new text in Literacy called 'Silly Doggy'. We were left a mystery message and a description of an animal who had been messing in our school bins and we had a think about who it could have been. We created 'Wanted' posters to see if anyone could help. Eventually we found out who it was and they brought with them the book 'Silly Doggy' We started to read it and have been completing lots of phonics reading and writing activities based on this text this week.

In maths we have been back practicing our adding skills this week. We have been making sure we recognise the + and = symbols, reading and writing addition questions and solving them. Lots of children have been working independently to do this.

We have also been looking at different types of animals this week too and where their natural habitats are. We've looked at animals we keep as pets and found out that 'cat's' were the most popular in the class. We also looked at the types of animals we might see at Chester Zoo.

Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend and see you all on Tuesday
