Reception - WB 8.11.21

Date: 11th Nov 2021 @ 3:38pm

Hi all,

This week during our themed curriculum time, we have been learning all about the Emergency Services. We learnt what an emergency is and the people who can come and help us if we need it. These include police, ambulance and fire service. We've discussed what each service does and how they can be contacted through 999. The children were very knowledgeable about what do if there was an emergency at home!!

During maths, we have been continuing to develop our pattern seeking skills. Children have been creating their own ABAB patterns using different concrete resources and spotting mistakes in some of Miss Steen's. So many children have also been applying their pattern seeking skills in the classroom environment. We then moved on to looking at numbers 1,2,3 and how we can represent these in different ways.

Please continue to read at home as much as possible with your little ones - we can see a huge difference in the children's phonological awareness already!! :)

Have a great weekend,

Miss Steen
