Team 1 WB 19.9.22

Date: 23rd Sep 2022 @ 2:55pm

This week was a short one, but still packed with lots of fun learning!

In English, we have been continuing writing about our class text, ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers. We have been working on including finger spaces in our writing and using some tricky words.

In maths, we have been counting items to 10 and counting backwards to zero to really cement our understanding of what ‘zero’ means.

In PE, we are learning ball skills by bouncing a basketball and using control to keep the ball close to us. We used some games and races to practice our new skill.

In science, we were introduced to our key scientist this half term, Charles Mackintosh. We discovered that he used rubber and fabric to invent the waterproof ‘mac’. We practiced the scientific skill of ‘classifying’ by sorting dolly mixtures in different ways. The children sorted them by colour, shape, size and how squishy they felt! Great classifying, Team 1!

In computing we learned that computers can be any electronic device which follows instructions. Even a toast is a computer. We used Beebots to demonstrate giving it instructions to follow a map.

Have a wonderful weekend, we are looking forward to seeing you all on Monday.

Mrs Weeks, Miss Thomas and Mr Flaherty.
