Team 1 WB 9.5.22

Date: 13th May 2022 @ 2:13pm

What a wonderful week, Team 1!

We found out that Michael Rosen himself liked and re-tweeted our wonderful version of a verse in his poem ‘We Can’. The children were so excited to hear that he liked it.

In English we have begun to re-write an innovated version of the story ‘The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth’. We have replaced the mammoth with another animal and re-named it. The children’s writing is really progressing, and they are putting so much effort into their presentation now!

In maths, we finished our unit on number and place value to 20, and today began our unit on addition and subtraction within 20 with some practical activities and games.

In RE we have been learning all about Islam this week. We shared a special book from home to compare this to the Qur’an, and how important this book is to Muslims. We made prayer beads and found out how Muslims use beads to help them to pray. ZR shared his experiences of being a Muslim. In our Islam sharing assembly, some of the children shared our work with the rest of the school.

We began a carousel of phonics activities this week to practice our reading, and the children have loved it!

If your child is attending the school sleepover tonight I will be there to watch over them all night, and hopefully get them to sleep at some point! (Mrs Weeks).

Have a wonderful weekend, Team 1. I will be spending mine catching up on some sleep…

Mrs Weeks, Mrs Butters and Miss Evans.
