Team 2: Wb 14.11.22

Date: 18th Nov 2022 @ 1:15pm

Another week completed in Team 2 and what a wonderful week we have had! At the beginning of the week we finalized consolidating our understanding of subtraction before reviewing all of the previous skills we have built across the course of our addition and subtraction unit- the children have blown my socks off with this!! In English this week, we have written a diary entry as if we were the character Tabitha. Again, it is really lovely to see the children applying their skills into their writing. They have produced some gorgeous pieces of writing- I’m so proud!

On Tuesday, Mrs Caroe joined us for Art and we started to sketch our own owls. During the afternoon this week we have been up to lots of different activities. In Geography this week, we have built on our understanding of the United Kingdom by shaping play dough to look like the UK. Then, we identified the four countries and where Helsby is. For PE this week, we continued to build our understanding of attacking and defending in a game. We had to work together as a team to invade and catch the oppositions beanbags whilst trying to defend the other team from attacking us!! This got very competitive!! During some of our afternoons, we have also joined team 1 to begin rehearsals for our Key Stage 1 nativity. This week was also anti-bullying week and we took some time to reflect on how we can encourage acts of kindness in our classroom. We spoke about what the term bullying means. To help us remember we have added the slogan onto our wall- S-several T-times O-on P-purpose.

Finally, we have finished our week off celebrating Children in Need in our pyjamas, thank you to everyone for your donation! It goes a long way!! We will finish off a wonderful week with bikes and scooters as our Mouse Mania! See you all on Monday.
