This week has been a very busy week as we have started rehearsing for our KS2 Christmas production! The children have been practising their lines and are doing really well with learning our class song and whole school songs- I have high hopes for December the 4th and 5th!

In English, we have started reading 'Winter's Child' by Angela McAllister which will be our book for the next couple of weeks. Over the course of this unit of English, we will be putting into practise oru work on paragraphs and prepositions for our last unit and looking at adverbs, conjunctions and teh creation of characters and plot in order to write our own fantasy stories.

In Maths, our work had has been going well with our focus being adding 1s and 10s to 3 digit numbers. We have learned a variety of method to do this in oru heads and using maths resources so that we can choose the method which we find easiest and most efficient when doing additions.

In Science, we investigated different samples of soil and their differing properties- some soaked up lots of water but some hardy soaked up any! We learned tht soil is made from about  25 % water, 25% air and a mix of rocks and organic matter (that's all the rotted leaves, plants and animals!).

We also really enjoyed dressing up as superheroes on Friday to raise money for Children in Need and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. We learned about how we can be superheroes in every day life by not being a bystander and using our pupil voice when we see or hear things that we disagree with.

Hope you're having a great weekend!
