What a week!

I couldn't be prouder of our children this week! It was an absolute joy to be able to show off all their learning on Tuesday- they make me proud every day!

We have been learning about Howard Carter this week and his discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. We created radio bulletins, reporting on his findings as if we were broadcasting in 1922 only days after the discovery. We have also spent time painting Egyptain style portraits this week using colours that were popular in Ancient Egyptian times and tried to draw pictures of the many different gods.

In English, we finished writing our persuasive leaflets all about saving our oceans, which we will be publishing next week ready to send out to Tesco with lots of suggestions for how they could help. We also took part in a live story writing workshop on Thursday with real children's authors and began to plan our own 500 word stories ready to enter into BBC Radio 2's young writers' competition!

In Matsh we have begun to look at the grid method for multiplying 2 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers and will continue with this work next week, moving on to the formal written method. You could take a look at our calculation leaflets under Maths if you'd like to have a look at these at home.

Thank you for all your continued support, it has been another week to be proud of in the Miller family!

Remember swimming starts next Thursday 14th February!

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Delaney
