Team 3 - Wb 7.6.21

Date: 11th Jun 2021 @ 4:50pm

We have had another busy week in Team 3!

In English, we created a recount of our half term with the children writing about some of the different adventures that they had been on. It was great to read what they had been upto! In our English/SPaG learning, we also explored the suffix -ly and learnt how we can add this suffix to an adjective (describing word) to turn it into an adverb. We learnt that if a root word ends in -le (such as gentle) then we drop the -le and replace with -ly. To support this learning at home, you could practise the following words:

1. carefully

2. simply

3. gently

4. quickly

5. aggressively

In maths, we continued exploring fractions. We learnt how to read a range of fractions changing both the top number in the fraction (the numerator) and the bottom part of the fraction (the denominator). We applied this learning to fluency questions as well as word problems.

In our afternoon learning, we began learning about the terracotta army in China and researched key facts about it using search engines such as Google. In our PE learning we continued developing our cricket skills learning how to accurately throw a ball at a target. We also learnt how to defend against a ball using a cricket bat. We were also very excited because our new book order arrived from the library. A range of new texts arrived including books by Tom Fletcher, Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl, Laura Ellen Anderson and Bear Grylls.

Have a fantastic weekend Team 3 :)
