This week in Team 3...

The week started with our very exciting trip to Carding Mill Valley in the Shropshire Hills. The children were greeted by staff from the National trust and took part in a river study and various map reading activities throughout the day. The children had a fantastic day and we really appreciated how beautiful the English countryside is.

In English the children have come to the end of their unit on Newspaper reports. They completed the invention stage and then spent time editing and improving their writing, using their success criteria. During our Maths lessons we have started our learning on shape. Our first task is to learn all about angles and being able to recognise them in shape, compass direction and on clocks.

Our afternoon learning has involved using skills practiced during our trip, learning to read maps and identifying human and physical features. The children have been identifying countries throughout Europe as well as the captial cities and using the index to find grid coordinates. In addition to this we have started music lessons using Charanga. We have been 'listening and apprasing' Bob Marley's song Three Little Birds and discussing the instrumenrs used in reggae and how the song is put together.

That's all for this week. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend!
