What an exciting week we have had in Team 4!

On Monday, we had our bouncy castle day and the children (and adults) had a great time! Wednesday, was our sports day and we were super impressed with the sportsmanship shown by all. The children had the opportunity to compete against their peers and they also enjoyed cheering the children from the other Key Stage 2 classes. We were lucky with the weather too!

In terms of learning this week, we have been focusing on texts by Philip Pullman in reading and we have looked at the use of vocabulary to create mood. In maths, we have been continuing our work on fractions and in English we have been working on description. At the end of the week the children worked from a plan to retell a story in first person. We have set the scene and completed a build-up and next week we will move onto the climax of the story.

On Friday, we completed a circle time with a focus upon how our own behaviour can affect others. We talked about the importance of everybody trying to say kind and thoughtful things to one another and the impact that this might have. We called this behaviour being a “bucket filler”.  We know that children and adults get tired and sometimes a bit short with each other at the end of term and we are determined to keep things positive and focus on the good in one another.

We have had such a lovely week and created lots of special moments for us to remember.
