Team 5: w/b 14.03.16

Date: 19th Mar 2016 @ 11:58am

We started off the week in Team 5 excited to see our One Show appearance, which was aired on Wedneaday. We watched it together as a class on the Thursday and it was absolutely brilliant- the school looked lovely and the children were a real credit.

During our English lessons, we were up to the final stage of our recount text unit: the hot task. For the hot task, children wrote a diary entry about all of the excitement that happened on Friday, it couldn't have been better timing for our unit as this was a fantastic day to recount.

Within Maths, we recapped on drawing angles. By the end of the week, all children were able to draw any given angle with ease, exact to the nearest two degrees.

During our afternoons, we had a PSHE lesson on peer pressure, which prompted fantastic discussion. We also tackled our next computing objective: inserting a self-made graph into a PowerPoint document. I gave the children a choice with the data they would like to research for the graph between either volcanoes or earthquakes in North America. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning this skill and I was pleased with their willingness to try something which is quite tricky!

Friday evening was the school Musical Extravaganza, for which I would like to say I was very impressed with all members of Team 5 that turned up to represent our class. Their ukulele skills are really coming along! Additionally the voices of the girls in choir sounded beautiful.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, and see you all next week!
