Team 6 wb 3.10.22

Date: 7th Oct 2022 @ 4:02pm

Hello everyone, welcome to our blog. We hope you enjoy hearing about what we are doing in Horn's Mill school.

On Tuesday, Team 6 went to the Military Museum in Chester.  We learnt about WW1 and even experienced what a trench would be like. We went in a trench as well (but it was recreated one in the museum).  We also got to try on some of the equipment they used in the war. We learnt about people who took part in the war and even looked at some documents and diaries!

Last Wednesday and Thursday morning, we have had open mornings where parents and their children have come in and viewed our school to see if they want to send their children here next year in Reception. In the hall there were all of the classes' workbooks to show the parents what type work we do here in Horn's Mill.

Yesterday, Miss Foster came into Team 6 and did science with us. We mixed warm milk and 3 tablespoons of vinegar together in groups of four. Then we sieved the vinegar and milk so that we only had the lumps and shaped them to turn them into keyrings. How the vinegar and the milk separated was very cool and it was shocking how quick it separated. It felt really rubbery and after a minute or two it started to crumble and break apart.

We finished the week by finishing our class book Crater Lake.  It was so good that lots of our class have started book 2!

That is it for now goodbye,

by Ruby Hughes and Evlyn Stanton.
