I think the past week has been the busier, craziest and tiring week we have had so far! I think the most exciting part of the year has happened this week as we set off on our residential. We had a great time, it was so lovely to get to know the children outside of school. They absolutely flourished during our time there and it was nice to see a different side to the children which we don’t always see at school.

After arriving at Burwardsley, we unpacked our bags, decided our bunkbeds and settled into the environment. We then went into the classroom there and had a go at orienteering. Working together the children were given a map and had to locate different squares. On each square was a letter which after collecting them all, made a word. This was a great team building exercise and the children did this so maturely. We were then introduced to John and Mary who took us for an adventurous afternoon. We walked across the road to Willow Hill and explored the different habitats we could see as well as some local history of the area. After tea we put our coats back on and headed outside for our campfire. In the morning we woke up to a beautiful cooked breakfast and started our day with some art with Mrs Caroe. Next, we headed into the woods for our ‘Forest Art’ and worked together to create an owl. We then returned to the centre to continue with Mrs Caroe before having some lunch and heading home!

We had a few sleepy heads on Wednesday but we got stuck straight back in and planned a report to write about everything we have done at Burwardsley. We then used this plan to write a report all about our time at Burwardsley as if we were trying to convince somebody as to why they would want to visit Burwardsley.

In maths, we are coming towards the end of our addition and subtraction unit so have been working on an assessment to show off all our knowledge on addition and subtraction.

We’ve had an unbelievably fun week this week but a VERY tiring one. Get lots of sleep and rest over the weekend as we head into our final week before half term!! See you all next week.
