WC 7th March - Team 3

Date: 11th Mar 2022 @ 4:57pm

Hello!

We have had a super week in Team 3 and have been very busy preparing for our upcoming class assembly (17th March). We are enjoying singing 'We will rock you!' but the Stone Age version of course! The words are rather tricky so we have all promised to keep singing it over the weekend (words have been sent home).

Our teachers are very proud of the progress that we have been making with learning the times tables. Keep practising at home! By the end of Year 3 we aim to know the 2's, 5's, 10's, 3's and 4's times tables. TT Rockstars is a great App to use.

In Maths, we have been learning about Money and becoming more confident in recognising coins, writing amounts and converting from pounds to pence and vice versa. It would be great if the children could handle money at home, perhaps count their coins in their money boxes (or even in your purses/wallets!), maybe they could pay for something in a shop.

In science, we investigated how different surfaces affect how quickly a car moves. We learnt that bumpy surfaces slowed the car down due to more friction. We made some great predications about what would happen, using our scientific knowledge and reasoning. We then carried out a fair test to test our hypothesis.

We look forward to welcoming you on Thursday at the assembly. Have a great weekend.
