Week 9 - 09.11.18

Date: 11th Nov 2018 @ 4:49pm

A great first week back for Team 2!

This week we have learnt why poppies are the symbol of remembrance. How animals were used to help in the first world war, in particular Sergeant Stubby. We also learnt how and why people had to ration their food due to lack of supply ensuring no one starved. This was a great topic to help the children produce some fantastic poetry work. The children have really found our World War 1 centenary learning week interesting and were able to offer some great insights.  I think the marching was a fan favourite for Team 2.

In maths the children kick started their learning with using bar models to help find fact families.  Though, some found the subtraction parts tricky they showed good resilience to produce some great work. Our compasses in Art are now complete and have been added to the ‘Master pieces’ all will be revealed shortly. The children thoroughly enjoyed their computing lessons this week programming Beebots with algorithms and debugging any issues that may have appeared.

We ended the week with a trip to the cinema, which the children and staff loved. The children were very excited and had a wonderful time.

Have a great weekend Team 2!

Mr Oldfield.
