Reception - 22.01.18

It has been a very busy week in Reception! This week we have been innovating our story 'Naughty Bus'. We have discussed different places that the bus might visit (we have had a lot of unique and exciting ideas) and changed them in our class text. We performed our new story together using actions and have started to write it using our phonics skills. 

In Maths this week, we have been learning all about shape. We started off learning about 2D shape, we discussed the shapes and their properties and created repeating patterns with them. The adults were impressed at how amazing the children were at this! We then moved onto 3D shape later in the week. Point out some different objects to me at home and see if I can tell you their shape.

We have been doing a lot of art this week, which the children have really enjoyed. We have had a visitor in to do some art work with us and we have created our very own portraits using mirrors, black pen and paper. We have now stuck these up over our first portrait at the back of the classroom that we completed in September. Please come and have a look at them, the progress is fantastic!
