Reception - All the leaves are falling down
Date: 6th Oct 2017 @ 2:48pm
This week in Reception we have been exploring Autumn as we have noticed leaves falling in our outdoor area. We have found out more about this season and explored mixing autumnal colours with paint. We used these colours to create some beautiful autumn paintings, some of which are on display in the classroom. Please have a look. There are also some comments about what some children have said on our Autumn walk around the school.
We found out about some vegetables that are harvested in autumn and made some soup. It was delicious!! If you are out and about this weekend, have a chat with your child about the environment and any changes that they can see happening. If you get any photos, you can now upload your own onto our learning book. They would be great to see!
Also this week, we have been creating our own story maps based on 'Ten little Pirates'. The stories that children created were hilarious.... we loved them. It's also great to see some of our phonics learning being applied into their mark making.
In maths learning this week, we have been recognising the Numicon shapes to help develop our undersatnding of number. We have been finding out about number lines and making our own using the numicon. Next week, we will be comparing number.
Have a fab weekend everyone,
Mrs Jobber and Miss Partington.
NB - Mouse Mania next week is parachute games
