Reception - Chinese New Year!

This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year in Reception. During literacy we have read a story called 'Dragons in the City'. We followed the story and the key events which happen during the period of Chinese New Year. We were delivered our very own lucky red envelope with a treat and letter inside. We were asked to think and write our own wishes for the year and place them on the wishing tree! The best wish sparkled by the end of the day and the person who's wish it was got to take home the lucky red envelope! Fingers crossed our wishes come true!

We have also made our own chinese dragons in the workshop and created a chinese dragon dance in PE. We have learnt how to use chopsticks and have tasted lots of Chinese food including spring rolls and prawn crackers.
