Reception - First week back!

Date: 9th Jan 2020 @ 2:28pm

Happy New Year everyone - hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

It has been a busy first week back in school; straight back into our learning.

We have started this new Spring term with brand new writing books in Literacy which the children are very excited about. We have been learning how to use the lines and begin to record our fantastic writing! We have been reading the story Elmer this week too, discussing the story as we read it and thinking about Elmer and how she feels throughout the story. We completed some different writing activities which went into our new books.

In maths we have began a new area of learning. We have started to look at 'adding', what this is and how we do it.  We played different games to practice our new skills. We will be continuing with this next week.

We were also very lucky this week to have a visit from Dee 106 radio station, as we are school of the week (next week). We sang our 'Millers Forever' song and some children were asked to say what they like about being a 'Miller'. Listen out for us on the radio next week!

Have a great weekend,

Miss Steen
