Reception - WB 13.11.23

Hi all,

We've had a super week of learning and have focused our curriculum learning around the dentist and looking after our teeth. We have been learning about what it's like to go to the dentist, what they do, how we look after our teeth and what foods and drinks we should have to keep our teeth healthy. We created a dentists role play to explore what this is like and brushed our own teeth using our special school toothbrush. Everyone was so good at telling Mrs Davies how important their teeth are!

During Literacy this week, we have continued to read 'I'm going to eat this ant'. We explored all the items of food that the anteater was going to eat the ants within and we discovered that they all began with the 's' sound, such as sandwich, sweets, sorbet, sausages. We were very good at hearing the initial sounds and found foods beginning with other sounds too. Some children have had a go at writing simple CVC words using all the phonics that they know - all the teachers have been SO impressed!

We have looked at different ways to compare numbers to 5 in maths this week. We've used language such as more than, fewer than and equal to describe different groups of objects. Have a go at home!

To finish the week, we played on the Ipads with our friends for Mousemania.
