Good Afternoon everyone,
We have worked hard during our Ready Steady Read sessions this week and have been continuting to work our way through learning set 1 sounds. Our recognition and writing of sounds is so much improved and we are becoming confident with recognising what sounds words begin with e.g. b for bin, s for snake. Playing lots of 'I spy' at home would help perfectly with your child becoming even more confident with this.
During afternoon learning we have been learning about Diwali, the festival of light. We have ;earnt about this being a celebration and how there are lots of different celebrations in different cultures around the world. We learnt how Diwali is celebrated by tidying our homes, making and putting out diya lamps, displaying rangoli patterns and having feasts and parties with family. We enjoyed doing lots of these activities this week.
Our P.E lessons are also split into two focuses, getting changed and actual P.E. Children are becoming so confident with getting themselves changed and ready using our step by step instructions - there is so much independence developing which is fantastic. When in the hall, we have been playing many games to support our listening and movement skills. This week we explored the use of the hula hoops, to identify different ways that they can be used by ourselves and with our friends.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs Davies
