Good Afternoon all,
It has really started to get chilly in school this week and children are opting to keep their coats on outside - hooray! As the winter months approach us, please make sure child comes to school with hats and gloves if possible. It would also be great if children could have a spare of socks in their books bags too, just case we get any wet feet during outside play - thanks all!
We have had a busy week of learning this week. We are noticing children are really starting to become confident with their reading skills during Ready Steady Read sessions and they are applying their knowledge during learning time in the classroom. It is super to see so many children sound-blending to read words independently.
During Literacy, we have continued with our story 'I'm going to eat this ant'. We read the main part of the story, finding out that the anteater decided to eat the ants with everything that began with the letter 's' - we found this very funny! He then sent us a letter saying he was bored of food beginning with the letter 's' and could we help him find things with another letter. We wrote our own letters to the anteater to help him.
Based on our own interests, during our afternoon learning we have been learning about zoo animals. We explored different animals you might find at the zoo, watched different videos about animals at Chester Zoo very close to us and also became zoo keepers for the afternoon.
Have a great weekend all,
Miss Steen
