Reception - WB 15.5.23

Hi everyone,

In maths this week, we have started to prepare for Year 1 and have been learning to use our new maths journals. Whilst continuing to develop our addition skills, we have been listening to addition stories and representing these in our journals. Children have worked on using pictorial representations to solve problems this week. Alongside this weeks maths topic, we have also been working on our number formation using the Numberblock song to help us.

In Literacy, we have read on with the story 'Silly Doggy' and have been re-telling and writing the story so far. Children used the Mighty Writer to help re-tell the story and independently write. Children's writing skills are flourishing and application of phonics skills to spell words are developing daily. So super!

During PE this week, we have been continuing with our football unit. Children have been learning to dribble the ball with control and pass to a friend. We've played lots of games to practice our skills.
