What a great week in school!
The highlight of our week this week, has most defintely got to be our trip to Delamere Forest - thank you to all parents for coming along with us!
We started our day with a family breakfast in our Reception classroom, before jumping onto to the coach and heading to the forest. We arrived at Foxhowl, had a little play on the park and prepared for our morining activiites. We split into two groups, where some children went pond dipping and orienteering and some children went stream dipping. At the pond, we caught a huge frog and down at the steam we caught two fish and an eel. It was all very exciting and the children got truly stuck into their activities.
Back for a short lunch and then we headed off into the forest for the afternoon. We worked in teams to create our own dens, as well as gardens, fires, seats and other items to go in and around them. We then put up our own hammocks, some were 'bunkbed' hammocks and children enjoyed jumping inside of them. Have a look on Twitter for lots of pictures - it really was a wonderful day.
Back at school this week we have finished 'The Gingerbread Man' story in Literacy and learnt about Diwali during Hinduism day on Thursday. We learnt what Diwali is, how it is celebrated and who lakshmi the godness is. We created our own footprints to guide Lakshmi into our classroom.
Have a wonderful half term break everyone and we will see you back in school on Tuesday 1st November.
Take care,
Miss S
