Reception - WB 17.4.23

Welcome back everyone - we hope you've all had a wonderful Easter break.

We've had a busy start to the Summer term with our class assembly on Wednesday. We had a sneaky practice before half term, but have mainly rehearsed for only two days this week. We've based our assembly on 'A Day in the Life of Reception', where children told the story of our day. Honestly, the children were absolutly amazing!!! Their singing, speaking and acting was brilliant and confidence shined through the whole performace. SO proud of them all!!

Back in the classroom, we have jumped straight back in RSR with new groups for the Summer Term. We've been learning new sounds and reading new colour story books.

During maths, we have been exploring 3D shapes. We've been comparing the difference between 2D and 3D shapes and learning the names of different 3D shapes including cube, cuboid, pyramid, cyclinder, sphere and cone. We've identified these shapes around the environment and talked about different objects in our classroom that are made from these shapes.
