Reception - WB 19.9.22

What a wonderful week we have had!

All the children are really starting to find their feet now, settle into new routines and build relationships with their friends & teachers. We are really starting to see the children become confident with using all the resources in our classroom and also building their independence when putting their bags away, finding their peg and getting their own dinner. 

We have started our phonics sessions properly this week, which children call Ready Steady Read. Please see the reading information guide that was sent home last week for more information - this on our class page. Children are beginning to learn the first set of sounds from the alphabet, learn how to oral blend sounds together to hear words and also begin to sound blend to read words. We are doing wonderfully so far and you will start to see these reading skills at home soon!!

On Friday we had our first PE session, changing into our PE kits. All the Reception team were very impressed with how the children got changed so quickly. We played lots of different games in the school hall, working on our listening skills being super!
