Reception - WB 20.3.23

Hi all,

We have explored the season 'Spring' during our themed learning this week. We have been looking at the different features of Spring and how we know that the Spring is starting to appear in the world around us. We completed a Spring walk around school, spotting blossom, nests, daffodils, birds and other flowers growing. The children have enjoyed completed different Spring challenges around the classroom this week, including painting the daffodils and making bird feeders. 

During our Literacy sessions, we have started a new text this week called 'The Journey Home'. This links in with our learning on Spring and new life. We have talked about Hattie, the main character, and where she might be off on her journey around the world. We thought about our own journey's and where we have been. The children enjoyed sharing these with their friends and listening to Miss Steen's too! 

We have continued with our new topic 'Relate', during My Happy Mind sessions. We have said hello to our new friends 'Rose' and read her story called Oscar's Magnificant Eyes. We have talked about how listening to our friends is important and what active listening is. We talked about the 3 new rules of listening and how we are going to use these every day.
