Reception - WB 22.4.24
Date: 25th Apr 2024 @ 1:53pm
Good Afternoon,
During Literacy this week we have been working hard to try and apply our independent writing skills and develop the confident to write without needing reassaurance from a teacher. Children who are ready, have been applying their phonics skills to spell words, using fingers spaces and forming letters correctly. We used the Mighty Writer to write 'I can' sentences - repeating the same sentence structure to become confident. Managing all these skills at once can be difficult and we have worked really hard at this.
We have been exploring our world again during our curriculum learning. We have focused on the white and green parts of the land and deciding which is Antartica and which is England, our country. We created our own versions of these parts of the world and added key features to them e.g. animals, weather features.
During maths focused sessions, we have focused on counting all the way up to 20 - ensuring we get the teen numbers in the right order. We have counted everything we possibly can this week, to practice our skills.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs Davies
