Good Afternoon,

We have started our Christmas singing this week, which has been very exciting!! We've started to learn the songs that are in our Christmas show and we are all really excited to perform for you all. Next week we will be given our parts and will start to practice on the stage.

In maths this week, we have been exploring how groups are made up by wholes and parts. By investigating their own bodies and familiar toys they we have began to understand that whole things are often made up of smaller parts and that a whole is, therefore, bigger than its parts. We've used different resources, actions and songs to help us understand this concept and have been applying our knowledge during Learning Time. Lots of children have been talking about how the banana is whole and then in parts when sliced.

During our afternoon learning, we have been exploring people who help us in our community. We've looked at the police, ambulance and fire service and what they can do to help us. We have looked at emergencies and learnt the number to call, that is 999. We are excited for a very special visit from the fire service next week, who are going to tell us all about what can they do to help us.
