Reception - WB 26.6.23

Good Afternoon,

We've had lots of chat this week around our next steps into Team 1 and what this will look like in September. There as been lots of anticipation about the changes and we've took part in lots of circle times to try and ease these worries and let let the 'butterflies' fly away. This is completley normal this time of year, but if you feel you need any support with this at home please let me know. Children will have a transition day with their new teacher, Miss Atkin, in two weeks and transition document to Year 1 will be coming home too. I think it's hit us all this week, teachers included, that we have only a few weeks left as Team Reception 22/23. What a super group of children!

In the classroom,we have continued with our Supertato story this week - diving further into the story and discussing the narrative. We created our own superheroes this week; drawing what they look like and then writing about their superpowers.

During maths, we have been looking beyond 10 and exploring how we can represent number 11-20 using the Numicon. We've learnt how to move into the next 10, to create and represent teen numbers. We will continue with this next week.

Our own caterpillars arrived in school this week also, who we will be watching grow over the next few weeks. We've learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly and are excited to follow what happens.
