Reception WB 27.9.21

Good Afternoon everyone,

It has been pirate week in Reception this week!!

We have been focusing our learning around the story 'Ten Little Pirates', where we've been acting out the story, learning new vocab and retelling the story using a story map. The children have enjoyed completing lots of challenges around the classroom linked to the story and have completed lots of mark making activities too, including treasure maps and messages in a bottle.

We've also linked our maths learning to this story and have been introduced to the Numicon pieces up to 5. We've been using the pieces to match how many pirates are left in the story and children have been really confident at recognising the pieces by colour.

It has also been Lanuages day in school this week, where we have learnt some basic French. The children enjoyed a story from Miss D, who can speak fluent French and were very impressed with her version of Little Red Riding Hood.
