Reception - WB 28.3.22

Hi all,

We've had a lovely early Easter week in school. We've been learning about the real purpose of Easter and how it is celebrated all around the world. We read the Easter story and retold it using props & actions. We've made Easter cards and tasted different food that we have at Easter, such as hot cross buns. We've also discussed who the Easter bunny and what he might bring on Easter morning.

During maths, we have been exploring some new 3D shapes including a cube, sphere, pyramid and cuboid. We looked for these shapes around the classroom. We've revisted repeated patterns and started to make more complex repeat pattern. We've played games with these patterns including spot the mistake and what's the missing piece.

We've also enjoyed Horn's Mill Got Talent this week. We watched the children take part in the auditions and then watched the live final on Thursday morning. It was lovely to see so many children take part and hopefully we will see some of Reception up on stage next year!

We finished our week with a lovely campfire for Mousemania, toasting marshmellows and playing games.
