What another great week in Reception!
We have been looking at Then and Now and talking about old and new toys. We learnt that many 'old' toys are also the toys we play with today!
We loved hopscotch and skipping ropes and Mrs Griffiths even showed us a 'vintage' jack in the box! We also looked through our learning journey folders to talk about things that happened in our past (Septemeber) and what has happened more recently (after Christmas). The highlight was definitely bringing in some new toys today for Mousemania!
Our literacy story 'Lets all Creep through Crocodile Creek' is coming to an end and we enjoyed discussing and writing about how our characters are feeling being so far away from home. We also wrote some warning messages to keep everyone safe from the hot sun!
The children have done some brilliant work in Maths this week too - Using our stem sentences to talk about who has more and who has fewer, or if the toys have been 'equal'.
We were also delighted this week to welcome a visitor to our class- Zoom Zoom the tortoise! The children loved seeing how fast she could actually move and enjoyed feeding her lettuce and strawberries! Thankyou to Mrs Philips for this experience!
