Reception - WB 4.11.24
Date: 8th Nov 2024 @ 4:03pm
Good Afternoon,
We've enjoyed learning about Bonfire Night this week and the reason why we celebrate it. We've learnt about Guy Fawkes and who he was. We've talked about the firework displays that we have been to see and what we ate/wore at them. Around the classroom, we have completed lots of Bonfire Night themed challenges including firework paintings and small world firework constructions.
Within our maths sessions, we have been learning to identify 2D shapes including a circle, triangle, square and rectangle. We have talked about how many sides and corners these shapes have and completed a shape hunt around the classroom to spot these shapes. Some children even started to draw them during Learning Time.
We have all started in new Ready Steady Read groups this week, based on where children are on their reading journey. Children will either have me, Mrs Parker or Miss Evans as their phonics teacher, as all the children continue to become confident blenders and work towards reading words more accurately.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Mrs Davies
