Reception - WB 5.1.22

Happy New Year, everyone!

We all hope you had a wonderful Christmas break with your families and are ready for a new year ahead!

Even though we have only been in school for 3 days this week, it has been a very busy one!

Within our classroom provision, we have made some changes that include a new doctors role play, a bigger writing table and a storytelling table. The children have enjoyed exploring these new resources and fabulous new play has emerged. Children came back into school like they hadn't been away and friendships picked up from where they left off.

We have started new Ready Steady Read groups this week, based on assessments we completed at the end of last term. Some children have new teachers and will begin to learn new sets of phonics sounds.

During maths we have focused on exploring and identifying the four sided shapes, square & rectangle. We have read a special shape story, completed a shape hunt around our classroom and practicing drawing these shapes. Children have been fabulous with this.
