Reception - WB 6.11.23

Hi all,

We have been focusing our learning around Bonfire Night this week. We've been sharing our experiences of firework displays that we've been to see and have learnt about the reason for celebrating Bonfire Night. During Learning Time, we have been completing different challenges around firewords including creating a firework bottle in the water tray, creating firework pictures in the painting area and performing firework displays using a range of different musical instruments. 

During Literacy this week, we have started a new story called 'I'm going to eat this ant'. We've been learning about anteaters; what they are like, where they live and what they eat. We have created our own anteaters this week, making sure we label parts of our pictures with the sounds we can hear e.g. n for nose.

As part of our maths sessions, we've be looking at number 5. We've been learning a new song called Five Little Peas spotting five. We've also played lots of games with the Numberblock 5, to support our subitsing skills.
