Reception - WB 7.10.24

Thank you to all Reception families who came along to our Delamere trip on Monday - we are so grateful that you could come! We started with breakfast in school, before heading on to the bus - well actually 2 buses for our short trip to Delamere, but we won't talk about that one!! When we arrived we headed straight down to the stream, where we did some stream dipping with our nets, trays and spoons. We caught lots of different creatures including mini fish and eels. We headed back to the centre for lunch and a play, then went back into the forest for some den building, hammocks and forest art. Lots of fun was had by us all and the sun shined all day.

The rest of the week back in school, was filled with lots of new learning. We continued our Gingerbread Man story and learnt how he has been in our class, dropping lots of his red jolly jelly buttons. We helped him to find them and recognise the sounds that are there too.

During maths we have been exploring patterns. We have looked at simple ABAB patterns and  learnt a rhyme to help us remember. We created our own caterpillars using the counters, that had to have the pattern.
