Good Afternoon,
In English this week we have started our brand new narrative 'The Bog Baby'. At the start of the week we made our very own Bog Baby houses to hook us into the text. We came into school one morning to find there was mud all over them - we think the Bog Baby came and tried them out! Throughout the rest of the week we began to imitate the story using a story map and comprehend the text.
In maths we have been completing a number of activities including problem solving with weight, number bonds to 20 and addition and subtraction problems.
On Thursday we were very lucky to have the Mighty Zulu Nation Theatre Company come into school and deliver a performance and workshop. We were all blown away with how amazing they were! The outfits, songs, dancing and BACKFLIPS!! We were so impressed when we got back to class that we wrote a Zulu dance poem.
On Friday we also had a very special visit to Helsby Library. Lena, the community librarian, taught us all about the History of Horn's Mill (our new topic) and even made us some homemade lemonade!!
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Steen
