This week in school has been SCIENCE week!

We started off the week with a visit from Chester Zoo, where we learnt about all kinds of nocturnal animals. We then started our new science topic 'Animals and Humans', where this week we have focused on the humans side. We have learnt about the different parts of the body and what they do, aswell as finding out what types of things we need to eat, drink and do to keep our own bodies healthy. 

Using what we had learnt we wrote a letter to the character Augustus Gloop from 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', who isn't very healthy! We told all the things he needs to do to stay as healthy as possible, we are going to make sure we do these too!

On top of our humans science learning, we had some science fun with Mr Oldfield where we completed three different experiments. The first was a secret message writing task using lemon juice, the second was making colour patterns with milk and food colouring and the third was making goo with cornflower and water. We had lots of fun and got very messy!

Please complete the activities in the phonics booklet over the next two days as much as possible - we start phonics screening checks on Tuesday!!
