Hi all,
This week in our English lessons we have been learning about list poems and have imitated a list poem called 'Like a Rainbow'. We learnt about the poems basic features and then began to change different parts of the poem to make one of our very own! We then wrote our own version of 'Like a Rainbow' and performed it to the class.
In maths we have been learning how to sort and count a range of different objects including counters, bean bags and numicon. We collaborated as a team to find different ways we could sort and count these objects; there was lots of creativity!!
Children have started their new science topic this week called 'Everyday Materials'. We have started to learn about a variety of materials and identify different objects that are made from these, including woods and plastic. We are going to continue with this learning next week; we have science every Thursday!!
Children's new reading books and red reading logs have been sent home this week. Please read with your child every night if possible and write a comment in their log. Books get changed every Monday and Thursday. Any questions, please come and see me.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Steen
P.S Mousemania next week is a Disco! Children don't need to bring anything to school!
