Good Afternoon,

In English this week Miss Steen identifed from her responsive marking that we all need to focus on our spelling and applying our phonics to our writing. So we started the week with practicing using phoneme frames correctly, to help spell words accurately in our writing. This is going to be our main writing tool over the next few weeks. Towards the end of the week we then began to innovate our text 'The Lion Inside'. We will be writing our own versions next week!

In maths we have been using the part part whole model to accurately solve our own subtraction stories and record these as a number sentence. Some children were also thinking about how we can record number sentences differently by moving the symbols.

Thursday was Rainbow Day, where everyone came to school wearing something bright to celebrate 'different families, same love'. Throughout the day we discussed the differences in our family and created a family portrait. Some of the artwork produced was spectacular and it will be displayed in the hall soon. Keep an eye out!!
