Team 1 - WB 7.11.17

Welcome everyone - hope you all had a lovely Half Term!

In English this week we have been completing lots of spelling and punctuation lessons. We've continued to look at simple sentences and editing them to ensure they include capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. We also began to look at what a suffix is, in particular the suffix --ing, and how to use and apply this. 

In maths we have moved on to our addition and subtraction objectives. We've begun to look at how numbers up to 10 can be partitioned different ways, using the part part whole model and a range of different concrete objects. We completed these activities practical this week to ensure we understand how the model works.

Our science topic during Block 1 has been 'Everyday Materials' and today we completed our final piece of work on this topic. We learnt how to sort different materials using a basic venn diagram and completed a diagram of our own in our science books.

P.S Mousemania next week is P.J/Toy party. Next Friday children are to come to school wearing their PJ's for Children in Need, so they will just need to bring a toy from home aswell!
