Here we are again and what a week it has been!
The children are starting to get very tired now from all their learning this first half term and are succumbing to bugs and viruses. We have chicken pox doing the rounds so please be vigilent as those pesky spots are springing up all over the place!
The children have had a fun start to the week with a geography field trip. They enjoyed looking at the physical and human geographical features that they could see aroud the school grounds, They were fantastic at using a map and loved doing so.
In English, the children finished the week off with a book review of Lost and Found. We re-read the story and then the children told each other their favourite part and why. They all said that they loved the book and enjoyed reading it. Most enjoyed the ending when the boy is reunited with the penguin and they hug. They are a huggie bunch!
In maths, we have been creating number stories based on pictures. For instance if we can see 4 seals in the water and 3 seals on land we may say "There are 7 seals althogether. 4 plus 3 equals 7." We would then go onto showing this as a part-part whole model and as a number sentence e.g. 4+3=7.
We finished off the week with a teddy bears' picnic and an autumn leaf hunt during Mouse Mania time. The children said they had a great time.
Have a lovely weekend.
