What a super duper week!
We have started our new maths scheme called 'Maths No Problem' and the children have begun to complete maths journals and sometimes workbooks. They have been perfecting their skill at counting backwards to zero and being able to read and write numerals and numbers to ten e.g. 1 = one. If they can have any opportunity to practise at home, that would be great.
In Geography, the children had fun finding the places that the penguin had visited around our school grounds. He was certainly a busy penguin taking a lot of selfies. The children used aerial maps and photographs to help them.
In RE, the children have continued to study Christianity and this week have learned that the BIble is a special book and a cross is an important symbol to Christians. Some children shared that their Mummy's wear a cross around their necks. We listened to a song often sung in church (and which some children recognised) called 'This little light of mine'.
We are still enjoying learning about teamwork in PE and this week have focused on 'trust'. The children loved their partner work, guiding their friend around the playground whilst they had their eyes closed. It would help if parents could encourage their children to dress and undress themselves at home to help reduce the time it is taking in school.
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for your continued support.
