Team 1 Wb 17.6.19

This week in Team 1 we have fiished writing our own stories based on 'The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth' and started our next text by going on a toy hunt to find the lost toys. The children are already asking me when we get to start our new book! I love their enthusiasm!

In maths we have been learning about money, recognising and counting in coins. We have also started our work on fractions by looking at what a half is, and finding halves of shapes and numbers. 

This week we have been hearing all the children recite a poem, as part of our class audutions for our whole-school poetry competition. Team 1's efforts were amazing! I was very impressed with them. We even had children who stood up infront of the class to speak for the first time this year! It made me very proud. 

Team 1 loved our visit from real-life author Fay Evans on Friday. We heard one of her stories in assembly and then another in our class, where we all got to join in and help her out. We are big fans of rhyming stories in our class so this was a wonderful end to the week for us!
