How lovely to hear all about the fun the children had over the Easter break! It sounds like a lot of chocolate was eaten.
We have had a super first week of the summer term. In maths, we began a unit on number and place value up to 40. This week we have been learning to count in tens. Perhaps the children could try to show you what they know at home.
In English, we have been planning a re-write of our class text by using a different animal in place of the missing mammoth. The children have been using some superb vocabulary and suffixes.
In science, we had a welly walk to spot the signs of spring. We found tadpoles, catkin buds, bluebell shoots, birdsong and bird nests. We even looked at a real birds’ nest. We could not believe how clever the birds must have been to build a nest with no hands! We also began our science unit on plants by planting some marigold seeds in the poly tunnel. We cannot wait to see what happens to them!
In PE, we are learning ball skills this half term using our hands. We practiced our previous knowledge of dribbling a ball, and began learning about attacking and defending in games.
Have a wonderful weekend, Team 1!
