How lovely to have the children back this week. We have enjoyed hearing all about their holidays near and far, and about how many Easter eggs they managed to collect.
In this first week of our summer term, we began a unit of maths covering shape in geometry. We revised our 2d shapes, and introduced 3d shapes.
In English we found some clues out in our quad about our new English text: There were dinosaur bones in the sandpit and pieces of a picture of a woolly mammoth. On Thursday we discovered that these were all clues pointing us to the book ‘The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth’ by Ellie Hattie and Karl James Mountford. We have begun using this book to use the skill of using ‘and’ to join clauses, and to learn to use the suffix –ed on past tense verbs.
In science we have been learning all about spring and what happens to trees in the springtime. We went on a welly walk to investigate and found buds and blossom, which we drew on our season chart to record the changes across the year.
Have a wonderful weekend, Team 1. We are looking forward to a wonderful week next week.
Mrs Weeks, Miss Evans and Mrs Butters.
