I write this every week, but…. What a busy week, again!
Huge congratulations must go to our finalists in the Horn’s Mill poetry recital: TD, TD and HS. We were delighted with their performances in front of the whole school, and with parents watching. This is such a big achievement when you are only 6 years old. Extra congratulations go to one of our finalists who won the competition for KS1, and brought a tear to many eyes with his emotional and beautifully recited poem.
This week we have been writing descriptions of a space creature in our class text, ‘Toys in Space’. In maths, we have been subtracting numbers within 20 by crossing out, and by using a number line to ‘jump’ backwards.
We have been very busy practising for our class assembly next Wednesday morning, and we hope that you will be able to make it. The children have been working so hard on their lines, songs and dances. Every child who wanted a speaking part has one, and they have brought home their line(s) to rehearse at home.
Our Mouse Mania today was ice cream with sauce and sprinkles. A perfect cooling end to a hot and busy week.
Have a super weekend, Team 1!
Mrs Weeks, Mrs Butters and Miss Evans.
