Team 1 Wb 21.1.19

This week in Team 1, we have begun to investigate our new text in English, it is set in the African Savanna, so we have been basing our writing so far on images and on the opening scene from The Lion King. The vocabulary the children have been using to describe that they can see has been wonderful and we have been focusing on extending our use of 'and' in our sentences. 

In maths, we have been working on identifying and understanding one more and one less that numbers within 20, as well as comparing groups of objects and numbers using vocabulary such as greater than, less than and equals to. 

In science this week, we have been explaining the different materials from which objects are made. We have also been describing properties of different materials, using words such as transparent and absorbent. In PE we continued developing our Toy Maker dance, and in our E-safefy lesson, we made some fantastic posters using our writing and drawing skills. Look out for some of them on display in our classroom!
