Team 1 wb 21.9.20
Team 1 have shown what superstars they are this week! Our independent learning journals are filling up with their exciting learning across the curriculum, and the children are developing their independence in taking responsibility for their learning.
We have been outside in all weathers this week, enjoying time in the woodlands every day, and making the most of the trim trail and climbing wall.
In PE we moved our bodies carefully to fit through hoops, and worked on our balancing skills using beanbags. We have also begun to practise some rugby skills during break times.
We have been trialling different ways of counting and sorting objects and things which cannot be touched such as claps, jumps and sounds. The children have also begun to recall doubles of numbers to 5.
Our Colour Monsters have had some homes built for them in the construction area, and the children wrote story maps detailing what the monsters have been up to.
Team 1 celebrated European Day of Languages on Friday by exploring the Russian language. We looked at a selection of Russian books to see what is the same as books in English and what is different. Team 1 spotted some different letters! The children learned some phrases in Russian, and found Russia on a globe. They knew that much of Russia would have a cold climate as it is located near the North Pole. Team 1 are bringing home their names written in the cyrillic alphabet.
We ended our week with some circle time discussing the importance of telling the truth, linked to our class charter, then some awesome Mouse Mania dancing!
Have a super weekend!
Mrs Weeks and Miss Thomas.
